So I created a facebook account for Bryan a while ago so that I could link my relationship status with a name and people would know who I was dating. I told him and he didn't mind that it existed but overall thinks that he and all of us are waaay too old for facebook/twitter/myspace/blogs and that its vain. Every now and then I would tell him about so-in-so that I accepted as a friend for him or what someone wrote on his wall or who had a baby, etc. It wasn't until recently that he wanted to go into it and figure it all out even though he still claims that it's ridiculous. Pretty much every time that the facebook subject comes up I ask him if he wants me to delete his account and he says, "No, that's ok". So let me tell you what, last night I was trying to get off the phone with him to go to bed at 11:00pm and he brought up facebook and I swear that we talked and talked about "facebook" for 1/2 hour. He also told me that he wanted my current profile pic to come down immediately b/c he hates that picture of himself (I like that pic of us). He is so totally in the know now and I think he a closet facebook lover. Hahaha... :)

Boot Camp & Triathlon Training

I started boot camp last month with my fellow veteran bootcamper, Carrie. We are now into our 4th week (Carrie's 8th). It is crazy insane workouts that are trying to kill me. I haven't lost any more weight :( but Wow! I sure do feel and look a lot better. My clothes are starting to get more loose. It's a lot of sacrifice (I wake up at 5am 3x a week) and mind over body. I am going to sign up for the next semester, too. It's helping out for my triathlon coming up on Oct. 4th!

I have decided to compete in my first triathlon in Benbrook, Tx near Ft. Worth. It will be an all women's tri: 300 yard swim, 13.8 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run. My goal is to finish or complete it in < than 2 hours. I have to buy a bike soon and work on that aspect. Right now I am running in boot camp and swimming. Wish me luck that I am injury free come October 4th! I am very excited about the race and being a competitor again...

One more exciting note: My good friend, Gretchen Fudge, is going to compete with me at the Triathlon!!! I actually got the bug to compete b/c I went to watch Fudge (that's what Bryan and I call her) compete in her first triathlon a couple months ago. Since then she has done a couple and warns me that they are quite addicting! GO TEAM FUDGE ZIEHM!!!!

Great News!!! I passed my 4-8 Generalist Test!!!

I am so happy to report that I passed my content area test to become a teacher in the great state of Texas! I took the test on Bryan's birthday, June 27th. It took basically all day. I got there in Denton at 7:00 am and tested until 1:30 pm. I was very worn out mentally afterwards and thought that I did pretty good when I walked out of there. I took my time and I was the last one to leave the room :) I wanted to get my $$$'s worth. I am so relieved that I don't have to take that test ever again and that I passed it on my first try. So I can now say, "I am smarter than a 5th grader" !!! It's just another step in the process but at least now I can put on my resume that I passed the content area test and I am ready to teach! Please pray that someone will hire me between now and the beginning of the school year!

Also, please do not post comments about my job search or anything related to teaching on my facebook. My boss and co-workers are my friends on facebook and will read the comments. So, I don't want them to find out about my career change. Thanks and Gig'em!!!

Things that you learn when dating...

I was very surprised when I learned that Bryan was such an awesome wake boarder!!! I knew that he used to wakeboard a lot with his friends, Mike & Nathan. But, WOW!, I didn't know that he could do flips, etc. I posted some pics for all to see...I am really impressed!
So proud of him when he landed it!!!

Summer 2009 So Far....

I can't believe that it is July already. Not too much has been going on. Fun summer so far! My birthday was at the end of May, Bryan's at the end of June, we went to a really awesome wedding for our friends Cat & Clint in June and celebrated Fourth of July at Lake Tyler. My friend, Jackie, is getting married in a couple weeks in Conway, Arkansas. I am trying to get Bryan to go with me but they have a race to get ready for the weekend of July 23-26 outside of Houston. It will be fun going to the wedding and seeing some old friends. Nothing comes in between Bryan and racin'.

I have started training for my first triathlon that will be October 4th in Benbrook near Ft. Worth. My friend, Gretchen, has been my inspiration. I had a recent knee injury that I did physical therapy for 6 weeks. Hopefully, it will not be a limiting factor. I will keep you posted of my progress. Please ask me about it, it keeps me honest. :)

Recently, Bryan and I have lost a few pounds. I am really proud of Bryan. He has lost almost 35 lbs. and is looking very fit n' trim. I have lost 23 lbs. since December. My goal is to lose a total of 70 lbs. altogether. Many would think that is ridiculous, but I want to a skinny bitch :) Don't hate! Once I lose another 15 lbs, Bryan is rewarding me with a King Size bed! I am getting excited! Maybe Tinkerbell won't sleep on our heads anymore and stop ripping out our hair...Silly kitty.

My 10 year high school reunion is coming up in Sept. Hence the triathlon training :) I think that it will be a lot of fun to see old friends and have a great time with some cocktails! It's great b/c it is here in Frisco just down the road.

Our New Blog

Soooooo....Everyone else has a blog and I am feeling a little left out. I have decided to start a blog of the things that Bryan and I have been up to. I think that it might be fun. I am sure that Bryan is going to kill me and think that I am a tool. :)
